What the books will be like
The short answer first
Each chapter will open with one question, in plain words, and answer it in a few lines. The detail comes after, for when you want it.
What to do, and what can wait
Each chapter will end with what to do now, what can wait, and where to find help. The list of what can wait is there so you can put those things down.
Checked against the source
Every rule will be checked against the agency, court or law it comes from, and each book will say when. Figures that change will sit on one page at the back.
Information, not advice
The books will explain how things usually work in the United States, what to ask, and who can answer for your situation. They won’t tell you what to choose.
Hear when the first book is out
A short note when each book is out, and the free checklist when it is ready. Five or six emails a year at most. You can unsubscribe whenever you like.
If your mother is now widowed
The Widow’s Guide is a separate series from the same publisher, written for women in the first two years after a husband dies. If your father died and your mother is now on her own, it was written for her: widowsguide.org.
